The Perfect Afternoon Snack

I’m always looking for healthy, easy to make afternoon snacks for my kids. They are getting bored of the usual suspects, bread with hummus or peanut butter; berries and cheese, yogurt etc, but I don’t want to turn snack time into a fourth meal that requires the stove and a slurry of pots and pans. Today’s snack, a peanut butter banana smoothie, was a huge hit (evidence above), it took 5 minutes to make, is high in protein, loaded with vitamins, will keep them happy until dinner and they asked for more!

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

1 large Banana (can use frozen)

1/2 Cup Oats (optional)

1 Cup Milk

2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

1 Tablespoon Wheat Germ

1 Tablespoon Flaxseed

If using oats, blend those first into a fine powder. Add remaining ingredients, blend until smooth. Enjoy!
