Hopefully, by now, you’ve realized that you need to move your clocks ahead an hour tonight. Except, of course those strange few of you who never do this and I only know about because my friend Laura is from Fort Wayne, IN. Of course, Indiana joined the “spring ahead, fall back” party in 2005 so their days on the sidelines are over.
To me, it seems really early this year, but after a little digging, I was reminded that while it used to be the first Sunday in April that we sprung ahead and the last Sunday in October that we fell back, now it’s a month earlier “to go along with energy bills at the time.” So here we are. March 11th.
All I can think about is…what are my children going to do this week? Are they going to sleep until 8? Go to bed at 11? Ahh, the good old days when all I had to worry about was complaining about that lost hour of sleep. That’s like a regular topic of parental conversation. Why even bother now?
Whatever you’re worried about, just remember to switch the clock in your room. Then again, with kids, you’re probably a little late to everything. Now at least you have an excuse.
