My 10 week old son has a terrible cold. I spent most of the night trying to clear his nose of mucus so he could breathe (yes, this is why we must all appreciate our mothers). Luckily, my friend Meghann told me about this great new device called Nose Frida, the Snot Sucker (the Swedes really do have some great ideas!). I was skeptical at first, but it is by far the BEST snot sucker I have ever tried. We have the manual bulb, the electric one, and some other random contraptions, but this one actually cleared up everything, and very easily. It not only helped him sleep, but will hopefully prevent any infections. If you have a child under 2, I highly recommend it!
Here are some more of our favorite things:
California Baby Bath Wash – not only does is smell amazing, it’s all natural and does not irritate sensitive skin. I’ve used it since my kids since they were newborns. Their diaper cream is also amazing!
Some of our favorite books are Puff the Magic Dragon, which has stunning illustration and comes with a great CD; and The Paperbag Princess, a nice break from all the typical princess story and instead tells the story of a strong, independent young lady.
Crayola’s line of Color Wonder paints keeps us busy for hours and is mess free! The paints are clear and only show up on “magic” paper, so we can paint almost anywhere, even finger painting is easy. We love it.
Our two favorite kid’s cartoons are Calliou, which is the story of a 4yr old boy and his family, each episode is short, easy for preschoolers to follow and has a moral message that my kids find easy to understand; and Charlie and Lola, a british cartoon about two siblings that encounter everyday issues and always find a solution that make them both happy.
