4th of July Craft: Sprinkle Fireworks

on July 3, 2013

The humidity is through the roof and there has been a threat of a thunderstorm everyday for almost a week now. Happy Fourth of July everyone! Since we haven’t been able to play outside much the past few days, we decided to make some fireworks this morning (since our local fireworks display scheduled for last night was postponed). Don’t worry – these fireworks are totally safe and don’t make much noise. In fact, we made our fireworks with sprinkles!

All you need is some paper (we used black paper for the night sky), glue, and sprinkles.

Simply squeeze some glue onto the paper in the shape of fireworks, then get to sprinkling!

Look, they’re even working together!

Let the glue dry for a few minutes.

Shake off the excess sprinkles.

Fireworks! This certainly isn’t an elaborate craft, but it was worth the 15 minutes of peace of quiet (we’re going a little stir crazy inside) while the boys were crafting together. Not to mention my kids think ANY craft is fun, so…

Hopefully we will be enjoying some REAL fireworks tomorrow!
